CAMP DETAILS
We teach the design thinking process and you get your hands dirty with talking to users, prototyping, and seeing how design works in the real world. We'll learn about all the phases of design, from user interviews to user experience, to 3D printing and manufacturing methods. We select a small group of students (~25) and our team of four instructors aim to provide much one-on-one instruction and guidance. Some areas we'll cover during the camp include:

LEARN HOW TO FIND USER NEEDS
Students are given various design challenges, and there will be an ongoing challenge throughout the week. We'll go out in the world and talk to people about their needs so we can solve their problems. Learn about interviewing techniques and methods professionals use.

VARIOUS PROTOTYPING METHODS
We show and provide various tools for prototyping. Rough and rapid prototypes are very helpful and show that you can learn a lot from low resolution concepts. We also introduce CAD, and 3D printing techniques.

TEAM DESIGN CHALLENGES
Students will often work in teams and learn in a collaborative environment. Teams will have coaches and one-on-one guidance.
